Dorey joined the crew in late October 2019 and from day 1 has made a huge impression. She is very smart, on the quieter side for an icie, and very easygoing in general. She is definitely my most independent icie, she will happily entertain herself in any setting and doesn’t need to be right next to me. Training happens at her pace, she gets bored with too much repetition and moves very slowly if something isn’t fun for her. She is hit or miss on food motivation but loves tug and tennis balls and will happily work for fetch. She is still reliable off-leash and is very easy to live with. My absolute favorite thing about her is that I can take her absolutely anywhere, and throw anything at her and she’ takes it in stride, she’s confident and thrives on adventure. As a puppy, she came with me on a week-long camping and road trip, she did amazing with the lack of routine and constantly being on the move and staying in new places. Her all-time favorite thing to do on this earth is swimming (I joke that her happy place is any body of water) and will cruise around any chance she gets. I joke it was harder to teach her to recall off of water than wildlife. She's a beautiful little girl and very easy to live with, I’m so thrilled to have her as part of my program and family.
